With over twenty years of experience, Water for Life Association (WFL) is developing its activities of raising awareness and educational in the problems of the water in France and abroad (Africa) :

We offer activities on water related issues (during carnivals, festivals,...), educational activities conducted in schools (elementary and secondary schools) and as well as during exhibitions and public conferences (organization of the World Water Day on march 22 of each year).

Projects and training of technicians in Africa

Since 2008, in Benin Republic at the request of the villagers, and in collaboration with the Directorate General for Water, we conduct several projects :
- of extension water supply systems (villages like Pahou, Avlékété, Ouidah, in the Atlantique department)
- of development project combining technical (pump powered by a photovoltaic panel)
- of transfer of skills (training technicians on site)
- of establishment of a model of local economy to develop projects (establishment of food crop gardens, among other build a canteen in a school (at Amouloko, and Akpro Missérété, in the Department of Ouémé)

Since march 2008, the WFL has been participating in organizing the world water day in the Montpellier region. To communicate about topics related to water for the general public, the conferences debates are organized.

In the year 2010, the WFL in partnership with two other associations, Eau Vive and Humanitech, had a great time organizing the world water day. Indeed, thanks to the energy and leadership of a group of ten students from Montpellier, led by Fabien Roudil, who organized, animations, exhibitions, film show and an african meal for those present in the CROUS restaurant at the University of Montpellier.

In order for us to acquire a useful material to communicate the annual report activities of the association, we produced in 2010 the first issue of the letter from members Water for Life. This publication is meant for all members of WFL, our donors, partners and agencies (public and private) that we need to contact.
The letter was also distributed to new members who are registered on the associations day of Prades-le-Lez, in last september. The letter, through its two columns : water action AND awareness on water issues, reports on major events in terms of actions on the ground and our educational activities.
AEV is involved and give importance to awareness issues related to water (resource, use, pollutions, diseases,...) in the countries where it intervenes, but also in Languedoc-Roussillon Region (in the Herault department essentially) :
- actions about sustainable development on the theme of water in partnership with the city of Prades-le-Lez, primary schools and recreation centers of the cities Prades-le-Lez and Clapiers
- cultural events and conference debates in the University Montpellier 2 and Montpellier 3 to mark the world water day
- exhibitions in the field of environment and water (water-related diseases) in partnership with the city of Prades-le-Lez and the friends of the media library association
- project with young people in the city of Montpellier to introduce them to international projects (by briefing them on the projects currently being implemented in Benin)
For young audiences, we offer entertainment (a game of water transport) with instructions to limit, as much as possible, the waste of this precious liquid.
Two types of trial can be offered :
- the first consists in a succession of several segments of bamboo that have been dug, and through which children make
water to circulate. Water is poured at one end and the child must quickly replace its container under the other end to
collect as much water. The start is with a determined volume of water, a volume which is compared to that collected at
the end of the trail.
- the second type of trail is a series which has to do with several utensils for the transport of water (a bowl, a watering
can, bucket,...). As in Africa, part of the trial is done with a container on the head ... the sense of balance is put to work !
The aim is also to be the most economical (attention on the decantings !).
These trials can be done individually or give rise to the creation of teams. The goal of the game is obviously to make the trial in a short time, but by losing as little water as possible... water is a vital product !
